    Do you do bio for slings and sub's, too? Do you ever have to worry about the T burrowing and catching that mesh? Also, how do you prune the plants to keep from overgrowth with a large Poeci in there?

    • @robbiestalkingts
      @robbiestalkingts 21 день назад

      Firstly thanks for watching I appreciate it, as for your questions the simple answer is no, poecilotheria are not a burrowing species and no i don't do it for slings but a miniature bio could be fun to try. As for maintaining the enclosure I simply take out the spider like during a rehouse, do what needs to be done and then pop it back in.

    Great video thanks for sharing. Good information for beginners. The one thing that was not mentioned and that is cleaning the enclosure as in do you need to regularly change the substrate do you clean away the webbing? Something absolute beginners need info on

    • @robbiestalkingts
      @robbiestalkingts 29 дней назад

      That's a great point i never thought to mention it, I take it for granted common sense would state the animals set up a home, why would we destroy it. And apart from spot checking (removing poop and left over food) people would just leave them be in the same set up. But you have opened my eyes to a new perspective in advice giving so thank you, I'll be sure to add it in future.

    • @Steve200300
      @Steve200300 29 дней назад

      @robbiestalkingts I'm a complete beginner to spiders. I've just set up a home for my very first tarantula the chaco golden knee. Which he/she will soon be on there way. So as a beginner been looking at beginner tarantulas housing set up and care . That was the one point where people missed enclosure maintenance. I would be very interested in your thoughts after having a think about that subject. Or maybe do a short video for complete beginners new to tarantulas. You certainly made a good point about when they set up there homes you re arrange there house periodically. Intriguing.

    • @robbiestalkingts
      @robbiestalkingts 29 дней назад

      Well you have to have the mindset of in the wild once they find a burrow they web it up and unless it gets disturbed or dug up they will stay there for there entire life time. We clean away poop and waste food which would be in the wild cleaned by other insects (I.e isopods, flys ect) so all we do as keepers is replicate wild conditions in a captive setting. Hope that helps.

    Such a good quality footage. Also, it was interesting to hear mythology with this spider. I've never heard any other channel mentioning it. I have 2 albopilosus and love them more than any other tarantulas that i have, because they were my first spiders😅. I can only hope and wish that their natural habitats won't be destroyed so fast.

    • @robbiestalkingts
      @robbiestalkingts Месяц назад

      Glad you enjoyed the video, albopilosus is an awesome species i love them myself too, I believe it's important to learn about the animals we keep so unlike other channels who just push the same recycled care guides over and over again, I try to learn not just the biology and habitat of the animal but the history of it too, true enthusiasts want to know these things and I love to share the information it's fascinating.

      No not at all the video is a small snippet of what was actually 8 hours long of absolutely nothing from either spider, funny enough there was a 2nd attempt about 2 weeks after, same exact thing but a still intact male, a healthy egg sack which was then sold on to a reputable breeder/seller. My phormictopus cancerides was the same 0 drumming but successful pairing. It happens.

    • @robbiestalkingts
      @robbiestalkingts 2 месяца назад

      Pretty much, the problem is most people don't show u sometimes it takes hours before the drumming starts (8 hours in together is my record atm) and I've also had pairings happen when drumming starts the split second before the pairing attempt. It's one of those situations you will never know the outcome. Despite most psudeo experts trying to insist otherwise. But on a good note there was a successful pairing about a month after this video so she got there in the end.

    • @Wobblyrage
      @Wobblyrage 5 дней назад

      I’ve rewatched it, and it seems like she let him off TWICE with a warning. Now, it might be a good thing he got eaten because his behavior was so weird! You don’t want multiple tarantulas acting that way.

    • @robbiestalkingts
      @robbiestalkingts 4 дня назад

      Tbh the video is very edited down, the whole session of them together actually lasted around 8 hours most of it consisted of 0 happening from both ts. I think the strangest thing is about 3 weeks later I tried again with a different male went exactly the same way but it was a successful pairing and the male survived.

    Cool video mate! My friend has some 50 different species here in Finland. Damn I like to watch them but I'm always a bit affraid of those creatures. I always thought they can kill a human, but then learned that not tarantulas unless you are higly allergic to one. Other kinds of spiders can though. I've been stinged twice from the bottom hair and other one of those was in my big toe for two weeks and stung on every step like hell. Would like to know how many different tarantulas there are that haven't been found yet 😊

    Spider ball pythons actually have a neurological issue in which people have called a “wobble.” Their heads tend to wobble, and the wobble is very dependent on stress, how heavy the ‘spider’ gene is etc.

    • @robbiestalkingts
      @robbiestalkingts 2 месяца назад

      Correction the issue has been found not to be neurological at all, the issue is caused by Malformations of the sacculus and the semicircular canals in the ear canal of the morph, this can be found in several other genes not just the spider gene. It's even been seen in genes not associated with wobble (I've seen normals with head wobble), thanks for old information though I appreciate it.
